Luazinha - Area information

Pinheiro is a small 'tucked away' secret of the Eastern Algarve.- The scenery is spectacular and never ceases to amaze and impress us every time we are there. The Lagoon which is tidal is a joy in itself. At low tide you can watch the locals searching for shellfish, the small boats 'beached' on the shore, with the lagoon leading out to the endless sandy beaches of the Ilha. A wide selection of birds inhabit the salt pans here on the Ria Formosa. Including ;
Flamingoes, Storks, avocet, black winged stilts, little egret, Kentish plover, Tern (kentish,caspian,little,sandwich), Little Owl, Hoopoe, Bee-eater, Bluethroat, Waxbill, Golden Oriol, Azured winged Magpie, Woodchat Shrike, Sardinian Warbler, Great Spotted Cuckoo, Red Necked Night Jar, Black Headed Gull, Black-tailed godwit, Black-winged stilt, coot, Cormorant, Grey Heron, Kestrel, Puple heron, rock dove, stonechat, swift and many many more. Guests have seen up to 200 different species whilst holidaying here.It really is a bird watching paradise.

Pinheiro also has the delight of the authentic 'Fialho' Restaurant right on your doorstep, the seafood is excellent, the service is great and the prices are even better!
A cylce path joins Pinheiro to Fuzeta to the West and Santa Luzia to the East. The beach at Barril just East of Pinheiro is a favourite with families, with the little train that takes you across to the endless sandy Island beach, with several cafes, showers, WC's and lifeguards. There are miles and miles of deserted sand to get lost in... To the West, Fuzeta is also a favourite, a sleepy fishing village where a boat takes you across to the Ilha. For families there are a few cafes on the land beach where you can watch your children play and 2 parks with views you could only image exists. A daily fish and fresh vegetable market adds to the authentisity of Fuzeta in it's sleepy traditional pace of life
