LOFT WITH A VIEW. The bird watcher’s paradise.
Tucked into the traditional old port of Fuseta, converted from a workshop for repairing traditional wooden fishing boats, this is a very modern structure. The back walls were replaced by double glazed doors and windows which look out onto salt flats, fields and the sea.

The view is fantastic both from the inside and from the cobbled courtyard, small garden and terrace. A low wall separates the property from a sea inlet which feeds the salt flats and fills and empties with the tide.

Sea birds and Pink Flamingos come to catch fish and so can you, sitting on the wall when the tide is in.

The ground floor is a large open space all the way up to the roof, wood floor in the lounge and the old cobbles in the kitchen and dining area.

A sophisticated air conditioning system heats the loft in the winter and cools it in summer. The furnishings are trendy, there is a television, a radio and a table football, plus a downstairs cloakroom.

The Galley kitchen is large and very well appointed.
An adjoining breakfast nook has a sea view.
The washing machine and storage space are in the covered courtyard terrace.
Upstairs, the bedroom with a big double bed and storage space faces east so you can watch the morning sun rise and hear the birds calling.

A separate dressing room opens onto the bathroom which has a double washbasin and a spectacular round Jacuzzi tub in which you can relax, enjoy the view over the salt flats and let the bubbles massage you.

The study opens onto a terrace from which the view is even more spectacular as you can see into the far distance to the mountains of salt.
The loft is 2 min. from the train station. Train travel in Portugal is inexpensive, reliable and fun. You can take a hired bike on board .

A 5min walk in the opposite direction brings you to a very nice restaurant and takeaway called “CRISPIM”.

Around the corner to your right is the main shopping street of the charming, friendly village of Fuseta with it’s main square where you can sit in one of the cafés to sample the delicious Portuguese pastries to accompany a “bica”, the Portuguese version of an
expresso coffee, or have dinner al fresco at 'Capri' or one of the typically Portuguese Restaurants opposite the market.
Newspapers, magazines, etc., are available in English, French, German, etc.

Turn left at Crispims and you pass a wonderful old boatyard repairing old wooden fishing boats painted in bright colours on your way to the covered market where stalls sell local produce: fish, fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, fresh goat cheese and honey.
5 more minutes take you to ferry boats which ply to and fro from the island which separates the lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean.
A ten minute trip will take you to near deserted, miles long, sand beaches. On the lagoon side the sea is warm and calm, on the other a bracing , wave swept beach.
Olhao, the second largest fishing port in Portugal is a 10m drive from Fuseta. It has heaps of restaurants, from upmarket seafood ones to pizza parlours and local eateries, 6 supermarkets open seven days a week, two large covered markets, outdoor stalls selling colourful clothes, handbags and shoes!
Tavira: lots to see and do in this picturesque old town plus a large shopping mall with several cinemas showing films in English.
Faro, the capital of the Algarve is 20km from Fuseta. It has a good theatre, lots of cinemas in the big shopping mall, smart shops, restaurants and art galleries, as well as a few interesting museums.
